Does it feel like a trial? Does it trouble your mind the way you trouble mine?

I’m enjoying this trend of new National songs coming out every month. I hope we see a few more by the end of the year. The newest, released today, is called ‘Exile Vilify’ and is from the soundtrack to the video game Portal 2. It is available through amazon for purchase as a single, i think that means it costs 99 cents. Totally worth it in my mind.

Lots of piano in this one, with lyrics that do relate to the confounding nature of the puzzles in Portal, or just regular National melancholy. Since the expanded edition of High Violet the National have had a much more polished sound very evident in the mixing and mastering of their recent tracks, and ‘Exile Vilify’ is no exception. Another gem in my books, keep ’em coming.
